Alone in the Woods
Chapter 2 - Druidess
Over the next several days, I learned a few things, like the path to the watering hole from the den. I also learned there were two moons. Yup, not earth.
On one occasion wolf mom was out hunting, and I made the trip to the watering hole. That adorable fox was there and since I was alone it didn't freak out and run. I slowly made my way over and tried to see if I had fox whisperer powers too.
The answer was yes. I asked the fox if I could pet it and it snuggled up to me like a cat. I gave the little guy all the scritches he could want. After asking, he even showed me where some berries that wouldn't kill me were. Thus my diet now included things other than raw meat.
On another day, I was out with wolf mom and we came across an injured blue bird. The poor thing was in pain and wolf mom had ignored the little guy. I asked him what happened and he said he had been struck by a bigger bird and fell to the ground.
I wanted to nurse the little guy back to health even though wolf mom was rolling her eyes at me. But upon picking him up gently, wishing nothing more than to heal him, something happened. A green light enveloped my hands and the little blue bird. I watched as the light fixed his wing.
He started chirping excitedly, and hopped around in my hands as I came to a conclusion.
I had MAGIC?! That had to be why I could communicate with animals, heck I could kinda do it with plants too. Nature magic. I was a freaking shaman or druid. A lady druid. A druidess. Wow.
After that I started testing my magic. I began talking to the trees. They told me things in that weird way that didn't involve words or sound. Though trees spoke very slowly compared to smaller plants. I even tried asking one to move a bit, and it DID!
Blue bird did tend to visit me after that. He brought me stuff and helped me navigate when I went off exploring. Since I could, ya know, get directions from animals. He also tried to give me a worm to eat once. Raw meat was where I drew the line. I politely declined blue bird's gift and he gave me a little bit of a puffy feathered pout.
By the end of the week I had also befriended a family of deer. They were nice, though the fawn with them was a little too rambunctious and actually injured me when trying to play. Turns out, my healing power works on me too.
I started talking more with wolf mom. And after a lot of communication with her it felt like I didn't even need to talk to have conversations with her. We just sent each other vibes and concepts. It's how I learned she actually got separated from her pack when she was young and lived alone ever since.
Wolf mom also told me about some stuff. There was a rather grumpy bear that lived in her old den, that she said to stay away from. She showed me one of the boundaries in the forest, saying that beyond that point there were monsters. Also that I was not the only of my kind that she had seen but that people were exceedingly rare in the forest and were found closer to the edge.
Humans there were other humans. And that meant I could get clothes, and maybe even toilet paper! If there was one piece of clothing I really needed it was a bra. No one ever told me how much it hurt to have them moving around when being active. Though I had to admit other than that issue, I kinda liked my new body better than the old one. I mean it was every guys dream to get transformed into a girl, right?
One particular morning something weird happened with my magic. I woke up able to see through wolf mom's eyes. Processing 2 sets of vision was very confusing but it was also the first time I'd truly gotten a look at my new body. I didn't immediately recognize that I was looking at myself. I blushed up a storm thinking I had stumbled upon a naked woman, and was unable to look away cause I didn't control wolf moms eyes.
Underneath the grime and blood stains, I was kinda pretty. I had one blue eye and one green one. A trail of freckles flowed from cheek to cheek over my nose. My skin was quite tan compared to my former pale complexion. I also had mildly defined muscles that did not reflect someone who used to spend all their time sitting in front of a monitor.
The knowledge that I was pretty gave me a big fat smile I couldn't seem to shake. Wolf mom found my whole experience hilarious, and I learned what a laughing dire wolf looked like.
That situation helped me realize, I was so glad to have woken up in this forest. It was really starting to feel like home.
